Waimea, HI - Solo trip on the island of Kauai.
I fell in love with the human body during my own athletic journey. Although, I always knew I wanted to work in the industry of enhancing movement but wasn't exactly sure what role I wanted to hold in that space.
In 2010, I took a couple courses at SBCC, one being Nutrition, and a friend introduced me to Santa Barbara Bodyworks where I ended up receiving my massage therapy certification.
It wasn't until 2015, that I decided to pursue physical therapy school because I found I wanted to know more about how to relieve my clients from pain. I knew that by pursuing my doctorate I would learn arthrokinematics, biomechanics, and pathology but in reality I'VE LEARNED SO MUCH MORE! - And
I'm incredibly excited about this career!

I've been an athlete ever since I can remember! I grew up competing as a gymnast until age 15 when I literally out grew the sport - no joke my feet hit the floor on the high bar 🤦♀️ 🤷♀️ . I started playing volleyball and basketball when I was in middle school both shooting and hitting with my left hand...until I realized I am better rotationally with my right arm - then things began to click.
My freshman year at Carmel High School I was moved up to Varsity and decided to play club volleyball because I fell in love with the sport! During my time playing club ball that summer my coach told me I would never make it as a collegiate athlete, so my mom and I decided it was time to move so I could play at a higher level and with better coaching.
I moved to Santa Barbara, CA for my last three years of high school. I played and coached youth beach volleyball every summer through college. I played three years of Varsity Volleyball at San Marcos High School and on the 18-1's team for Santa Barbara Volleyball Club. I was recruited to play at the University of Miami (Florida) played for two seasons, then transferred to Oregon State University to play in the Pac-12 Conference . In high school I was also selected as 1 of 4 of the first female high school athletes to train with P3 (Peak Performance Project) and this is when I really began to understand movement mechanics and specifically how training translated into performance.

MY WHY
I absolutely LOVE patient care. I enjoy celebrating the wins and tackling the large obstacles with my patients. Feeling limited with your own human experience is quite possibly the worst thing I can imagine - so for me, practicing physical therapy allows me to be creative with exercise, therapeutic modalities, and finding out how to make it enjoyable for my patient!
I definitely love the challenge and to challenge people - it's in my blood and honestly what my coaches trained me to do. So naturally, I love to coach - and how I look at treatment sessions.
